This product is a colorless or light yellow transparent liquid or solid, with alkaline properties. It is insoluble in water but soluble in ethanol, ether, and other organic solvents. It exhibits the general chemical properties of organic amines and is used as an antistatic agent for textiles, a preservative, and an important intermediate for the synthesis of cationic surfactants in cosmetics and daily chemical products.
