This product is a white waxy solid, readily soluble in chloroform and soluble in ethanol, ether, and benzene, but insoluble in water. It is slightly basic and can react with acids to form salts. It is mainly used in herbicides, as a stabilizer for dioxane polymers, and in fiber waterproofing agents, antistatic agents, and softeners.
