It is easily soluble in water and polar organic solvents, but poorly soluble in nonpolar solvents such as mineral oils, benzene, and ethers. At pH > 7, it exhibits cationic properties. It possesses excellent solubilizing, emulsifying, foaming, foam-stabilizing, softening, and antistatic performance.
